Uncovering Ancient Art and Wildlife in Kimberley: Catch, Cook, and Adventure

@Hookedonwildventures It was a 300 km boat journey from the Dampier Peninsula to reach this wet season waterfall at Augustus Island. A too tad late, though – only a gentle trickle remains. Nevertheless, I climbed all the way to the top for a spectacular view, which you can see! Because there was only a trickle at the waterfall, we couldn't wait to go for a swim at our next stop, where Ricky intends to catch some mullet for bait (and to try for dinner, as we haven't had mullet to eat before)! It is definitely our first time to eat mullet and maybe our last?! haha! We have golden snapper as back up and either way, this is really living off the land (we are so blessed).

Afterwards we're off to a freshwater swimming hole with lots of mangrove jack at Sampson Inlet, ensuring it's crocodile-free before taking a dip. Finally, onto Raft Point, the mystery's solved! where ancient Aboriginal rock art in the Kimberley, dating back 4000 years, awaits. It's a privilege to share these incredible sights with you. I felt so blessed yet insignificant standing in front of the Wandjina art. It was like stepping into a different universe completely.
