A Part of this Disused Railway Became a Theme Park - The Heanor Branch

The Great Northern Railway opened a branch line off the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension in order to serve numerous Collieries and other industry popping up in the area.

Stations along the route were also opened.

The line closed almost 60 years ago, and in Part one of a Two Part walk, i'll follow this former railway route and uncover what remains and see how it all used to look.
