Описание к видео Webinar: Evidence & recommendations for benefit-sharing with local communities in renewables

Parties at the last UNFCCC COP pledged to triple global renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade. Demand for key transition minerals to support the manufacturing of renewable energy technologies is growing exponentially. In a just energy transition, gaining and retaining public support for a fast roll-out of wind and solar energy projects depends on creating the conditions for real shared prosperity with local communities.

On the occasion of the launch of a new research briefing by the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre focusing on benefit-sharing regulatory frameworks in the mining and renewable energy sectors in six African countries – Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa - this webinar covers key lessons learnt, evidence of emerging leadership in the Global South, and recommendations for model legislation and meaningful benefit-sharing frameworks to drive shared prosperity.
