I've been working on this project for quite some time and decided to finally finish it. I'm not sure I'm happy with the final outcome, but nevertheless, I wanted to vid this.

I absolutely love the Baskerville family. They're most of my favorite characters. I haven't done a video featuring most of them yet, and I've got another one in the making although it focuses somewhat on Jack too, so it's not completely the Baskervilles.

So yeah, this vid... it focuses mainly on Oswald's struggle. The relationship between him and his sister Lacie and how that relates to Lacie's daughters, Alice and Alyss. Mostly on Alice though because he got to know her. Alyss hated him, so I'm assuming they never really had time to bond. Alice seemed especially fond of him and admired him so their relationship was more flexed out, imo. With that said, I wanted to show how Oswald struggled when he looked at her and saw Lacie. I like to think of while Alice was a source of pain for him that he did care about her, perhaps loved her. While we don't know if he truly knows she is his niece or not, his sister's child, I think he's a smart man and will have figured it out at some point or another. Or at least has suspicions. For the sake of this vid, I went more along the lines of how Alice translates to Lacie.

This song is one of my favorites and it can be somewhat difficult to decipher. It can possibly have multiple meanings, but for this I chose to translate it a certain way in my head. "Will this be another day of night in here? The knife's not sharp enough to fear. If I ever see you in white, try to stay, the room's not light for a grey."

"Another day of night" -- another day of darkness, of sorrow, blackened guilt or pain; "The knife's not sharp enough to fear" -- can be thought of like a dagger of pain, anguish. It's not sharp enough to wound too fatally, but it can be harmful enough to destroy one's own heart at least partially (taken metaphorically). With that line though, I chose to use it with Oswald and Alice's deaths because I felt it would come across as powerful -- both of them died on the day of the Tragedy, Oswald by murder Alice by suicide. Oswald was killed by his best friend and said best friend became the catalyst for Alice to take her own life -- thus "the knife" being Jack in a sense; "If I ever see you in white," -- chose this literally too because of the fact that Alice and Lacie at one point have both worn white. It also can be taken in a sense that white symbolizes "purity" (and Alice was innocent and I believe Oswald never blamed Lacie for her red eyes, rather himself thus she was pure to him); "try to stay, the room's not light for a grey." -- Another metaphorical line. Oswald isn't white... isn't "pure." He's darkened, so he's grey. Not black, not solid evil, but grey, the line in between. This line is saying Oswald by himself is too dark, too bleak for a solid world, turning it dark, thus he needs "light" -- with Lacie gone, that would be Alice.

I hope that makes sense. O__O; I analyze too much LOL.
