This video looks at the surface area of prisms and cylinders. Before looking at how to calculate these, we introduce a few more vocabulary terms. Specifically the terms are: Lateral Faces, Lateral Edges, Lateral Area and Net. Using these terms and our knowledge of 2D area and perimeter, we can dissect 3D figures and calculate their 2D surface area. I then walk through some practice problems.
