Full Route Visual | London Bus Route 31 - White City to Camden Town | (VMH2485) LK18AHP

After doing the 316, I decided to complete the 31 as I have left it for a long time now.
I was gonna do the 31 when I did the 49 and 295 in July 2024, but because the 295 took a long time and rush hour was about to commence, I had to cut at Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's annoyingly...

So, The 31 is operated by Metroline Travel using Volvo B5LH MCV Evoseti's from Holloway [HT] Garage. The route goes from White City, Shepherd's Bush, Holland Park, Notting Hill, Westbourne Park, Maida Hill, Maida Vale, Kilburn Park, Kilburn High Road, South Hampstead, Swiss Cottage, Chalk Farm & Camden Town.

The route used to be operated by Tower Transit using Gemini 1 B7TL's from Westbourne Park [X] Garage up until 2018 when ML took the route. Then Perivale West [PA] Garage took it and when that depot shut down, [WJ] took it. Once ML won the 28, the 31 moved to [HT] as a way to create space for WJ bus routes. However, the route will be passing over to RATP in April 2025 from the exact same garage it was before it was lost to Metroline Travel. But Tower Transit was bought by RATP in December 2021, so technically it is going back to "Transit" - (if you know what I mean). It is sad to be fair as I wasn't expecting RATP to take this route at all. But at least they officially won a route from another bus company for the first time in 19 months lol.

In a way, the experience was rather not so great at all. The driver was constantly honking every time. She couldn't go 5 minutes without honking or beeping at someone for either not moving at the traffic lights, cycling in the middle of the road or for a car user driving badly. I might even make a compilation of her beeping along the way to be fair. There was lots of roadworks along the way contributing to high levels of traffic; primarily along the A404 & the A5 junctions. Then, a group of yutes came on the bus and started cussing annoyingly and they were loud as flip between Swiss Cottage Station and Hawley Road. Then, there was this big spider on the side that seemed like it was going to fall on my head when the bus shook in general. And to make things annoying, I couldn't get a good thumbnail in the end since the driver parked too close to the bus in front and at the start, I wanted to get one of it turning, but I thought that I would have a better photo opportunity at Camden Town, but that didn't happen 😭. This was why I didn't enjoy the route as I had imagined...
