WALKING AND WILD CAMPING ON THE SOUTH DOWNS WAY | PART 1: WINCHESTER TO EXTON

Описание к видео WALKING AND WILD CAMPING ON THE SOUTH DOWNS WAY | PART 1: WINCHESTER TO EXTON

Welcome to the South Downs Way! This is Part 1 of this popular long distance route that runs 100 miles from Winchester city in Hampshire to Eastbourne on the East Sussex coast, covering 3 counties and the South Downs National Park.

In Part 1 I am joined by Mike from Higgsybear Outdoors as we walk 12 miles from Winchester cathedral to the village of Exton, wild camping overnight on top of Beacon Hill. We both used Wild Country Helm 1 tents, Mike's being the newer Compact version and mine being the older model. Lots of history is seen along the route, cider and even mead is consumed and a centuries old charity relating to the route is explored and consumed, The Wayfarer's Dole!
