Much ado about neutral trippery

Forsooth! A tale of handsome knight and his gnome-hatted gollum riding forth in ye ’olde Ford Transit carriage through fiery autumnal sunshine in Shakespeare’s County toward a perilous RCD trip & rescue of fair maiden from within tall keep of yon castle and... actually, let’s just fix that RCD.

Interesting as it perhaps is to see a backfeed of an RCD via what is presumably diverted neutral current from neighbouring properties. It looks like Jack and Jill Jones up the road have a problem or three with their electrical installation sending current down their earthing/bonding instead of their neutral. Still, it shouldn’t be noticeable to their neighbours Devinder and Deepali Doe; at least, not until they happen to have a neutral to earth fault of their own downstream from an RCD… in which case, they’re fu*ked.
