This video is about a group of researchers who are about to write a book about Pu-erh tea. I traveled with the guy who's doing interviews in this video, back in 2009. He is very passionate about pu-erh tea indeed. He spent a great deal of time traveling and visiting many of pu-erh villages. When I say many, it means at least a hundred and more. I admire his zeal. This video brings a lot of real insight into the background, scenes behind the curtain of the pu-erh cakes we consume. We can see on the video that not much of the history of this cultural, local phenomena of tea was ever documented. It went on unnoticed, picking and processing tea, trading it and making a living of it. The tea that influenced the tribes, the people who produced it, who traded it and so that the people who consumed it, mainly in Tibet. The video also introduced the local producer Zheng Si Long that used be one of my first pu-erh tea suppliers back in 2009. The other video will tell us more about this and other producers from Yiwu.
