Please Please Me was recorded on November 26, 1962. It was the band's second single and came out two months before the album with the same name, in January 1963

There are two versions of this song: one where you can hear Lennon laughing after messing up the lyrics (the album version), and another where that part was fixed—or maybe it was an earlier take where he just didn’t make the mistake

In this song, I noticed Lennon’s guitar is plugged in, but the volume’s so low that you can still hear the natural sound of the guitar through the mic—or maybe they actually used two mics (This same sound comes up in almost the entire album, with the amp volume low and the acoustic sound coming through more clearly). I tried to capture that sound, so my guitar is both plugged in and miked at the same time

And one small detail I noticed near the end of the song is that Lennon plays the chords A and B, but you can hear the F# note followed by G# (1:46). I picked up on that little detail by isolating the tracks, I had never noticed that inversion he played before. I might not have played it exactly how he did, but I tried to get it as close as I could to what I heard (Maybe he didn’t play that inversion I played and just messed up the chords, but I couldn’t figure out what chords he actually played instead).
By the way, the tuning is set to 432Hz :)
