Описание к видео Tok Kise and the Muslim Community of Ayutthaya - English subtitles

This documentary video presents voices on traditions of the Muslim community of Phukhaothong in Ayutthaya, Thailand. In particular, it centers on the legacy of a 19th-century Qadariyya Sufi: Shaykh Muhammad Ali Shukri, known popularly as Tok Kise.

The video captures a vibrant annual boat procession along the Chao Phraya River, a symbol of unity and diversity, as it involves Muslims of all genders and ages as well as non-Muslim members of the community. The distinctive songs of the Phukhaothong Muslim community played by a marching band along the route add to the celebratory atmosphere. Elegantly dressed in traditional attire, the community comes together to celebrate their shared heritage and faith.
