Improving literacy with grammar methods | Celebrating Impact

Описание к видео Improving literacy with grammar methods | Celebrating Impact

A decade of #research into the development of #writing in school-aged children led by Professor Debra Myhill has shaped national and international #policy, improved children's writing abilities and changed classroom practice.

What's the relationship between learning #grammar and learning how to be a better writer? A recent study working with 32 schools found that putting grammar into context and helping children to understand how grammatical choices can shape meaning, did help children improve their writing.

'It's about understanding how classrooms work, how teachers work, how children learn, and what's the best combination to make the best possible chance of children becoming really successful writers' - Professor Debra Myhill
