The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that medical colleges
can set higher qualifications, including hiring only candidates with medical
degrees for Tutor/Demonstrator positions. This statement follows a
grievance from non-medical teachers regarding Sarojini Naidu Medical College Agra's recruitment practices, which allegedly violated the NMC's Teachers Eligibility Qualifications (TEQ) 2022 guidelines
