Hiking at Beaver Creek State Park | Columbiana County, OH

Описание к видео Hiking at Beaver Creek State Park | Columbiana County, OH

Beaver Creek State Park is at the southeastern most tip of Northeast Ohio. Located in Columbiana County, just north of East Liverpool, OH and just west of the Pennsylvania Border, this state park is nestled in the Appalachian Foothills, deep valleys carved by Beaver Creek and its tributaries, as well as high points with overlooks of the surrounding terrain.

The Pioneer Village is a noteworthy attraction. It features several cabins that exhibit what life was like in for the early settlers to the area, as well as the Malone Covered Bridge. Gaston's Mill is also open to the public and serves as a museum, preserving artifacts of local history. Perhaps the most interesting piece to be found in Gaston's Mill is the trunk of the tree under which John Hunt Morgan, a Confederate Soldier who led a raid into Ohio and along the Ohio River, surrendered.

The video includes footage of a quick walk through the Pioneer Village, a short 1/3 mile hike on the Overlook Trail, a climb up the 1 mile Oak Hill Trail, and a leisurely stroll around the 1/2 mile Logan Loop. Each of the depicted trails are generally devoid of obstacles, with very little roots or rocks. The only difficulty that hikers should face is the steep terrain on the Oak Hill Trail, as the trail goes straight uphill for most of its duration.
