🩵 whisper ASMR 2000s vintage magazine flip through 🔍 jewelry trend spotting

Join me on a journey back to February 2003, a time of frosted eye shadow and wearing skirts over jeans. In this whispered magazine flip through, we’ll be taking everything in while also placing a special focus on what kind of jewelry we see. Settle in for 90 minutes of whispers, page flipping, tapping, tracing, and dainty dangle earrings.

The vintage magazine in this video is the February 2003 issue of Seventeen magazine, which has Anne Hathaway on the cover. This magazine asks the important questions, like “is it legal to make a mean website about your teacher” and “would you date this man who is wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt?” And we find out the answers, which in this case are “yes, according to the ACLU” and “they would totally date him, but they really didn’t like the shirt.”

This is mostly for my own reference, but here are some of the early 2000s jewelry trends found in this issue: dainty dangle earrings, dainty pendant necklaces, iconography (stars, hearts, flowers, etc.), crafty-looking jewelry, fabric bracelets, rings worn on necklaces, a very specific type of prom dress necklace (I’ll call them mini Y-drop necklaces or mini statement necklaces, but if you know a better name for them, please lmk), colorful watches, minimal jewelry overall (with a noticeable lack of layering).
