Sailing from Carolina Beach, NC to Oriental, NC

Описание к видео Sailing from Carolina Beach, NC to Oriental, NC

On this episode of two women sailing, we keep on keepin’ on through North Carolina. Leaving the beach behind us and looking ahead to visiting two fun little North Carolina towns.

After some stop and go boat traffic on the Intracoastal Waterway, we find rest at an anchorage in Mile Hammock Bay. But the rest is put on pause while Vanessa tries to figure out why all of the sudden, we don’t have any water coming out of our faucets.

From there we visit our friend Doug in Beaufort, NC and take in the unique and quaint sights. What a cute little city! But speaking of cute and quaint, then it’s onto Oriental, NC a cruiser’s stop with a population of 900. We hit the ground as soon as we arrive, literally. We run aground in our slip. With our boat sitting in mud, Vanessa is very unhappy about the situation.

Remember in our prior episode we blow a hole in our headsail? While in Oriental we take the headsail down so a local sailmaker can patch it up. We also get to visit with some friends from home.

All that and more on this episode of 2 Women Sailing!

We’re Vanessa and Sara and we’re taking a journey up the east coast of the United States on our Pearson 385 sailboat, Good Stories.

Join us as we sail to various ports of call, show you our DIY boat projects and teach you a little bit about sailing. You’ll enjoy the cruising life with us as we drop the hook in anchorages and tie up at marinas. Best of all, you’ll get to come aboard with Whip the Adventure Cat, our cuddly and charming Russian blue.
