Midnight Magic! 24x24 Beautiful Straight Pour with Floating GoldenCells on a Blue & Violet cloud!

Hello Friends! Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇲🎆
One of my favorite paint pouring techniques is the Straight Pour, with a Dirty Cup. When I first started watching paint pouring videos I found Gina DeLuca's channel (   / gldeluca  ) and was mesmerized by the magic she created. About 6 weeks ago I watched one of her videos that just consumed me.. I fell in love with her piece, so I started experimenting with straight pours using different color combinations. I really love watching the pour develop and change as it is stretched, it is magical to me! Today you get to see what I look like when I've just watched a pouring video I loved and am itching to paint! 🎨 In this case it was Julie Cutts videos from her channel, Pouring Your Heart Out.
She has been playing with straight pours again recently (video #'s424, 426 and 429) and has created some incredibly beautiful paintings with the most adorable little floating golden cells that set my brain on fire and made me have to go paint! A Straight Pour is when the paint is poured onto the canvas from up high into one spot. This mixes and churns the paint, creating a lot of bubbles, which then can become cells. I have done straight pours with several different pouring medium recipes, to try to get beautiful round floating cells. I do NOT add any silicone to my paints, because this technique creates cells. No silicone needed.

In this pour I mix my paint first with Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish until it is well incorporated. Then I add water until it is just a bit thicker than I want, then I add Flood Floetrol until it is the thin consistency that I want. For a straight pour you want your paint on the thinner side.

DecoArt Americana Decor Classic Black mixed with Artist Loft Black

DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics 24K Gold

Arteza Violet mixed with DecoArt Zinc

Liquitex Basics Pthalo Blue

Pouring medium is Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish, water and Flood Floetrol in this pour.

I apologize for the poor quality of the video, it was very sunny and hot outside where I usually pour, and that makes my paint set up quickly..so I put down some garbage bags and hid inside my little TuffShed Studio and painted inside there with the door closed. I closed the door because there is construction happening all around my house right now and the jackhammers are loud and persistent. (To not lose my mind I repeat to myself that we are all under construction, on one level or another..) I still wanted to paint very badly, so I did, and my lovely sister grabbed a camera and stared shooting. It's a bit grainy, kind of like Film Noir of Acrylic Pouring hahaha but you can see the important bits. I would normally not post a video of this quality but several lovely people asked to see the creation video.
