Episode 4 of the second season of Black Space Matters features Art Burton, a social activist and executive director of Kinfolk Community (  / kinfolkcommunityrva  , a multi-dimensional outreach program for Richmond, Virginia’s public housing community. As they explore the farm that has been in Burton’s family for generations, series host ‪@blackpowermediareloaded‬ talks to Burton about his legacy of social justice activism in the Richmond community and the importance of food justice in the fight for racial equality.

In this season of the ICA’s video series Black Space Matters, food justice advocate Duron Chavis goes on location to Black-led farms and greenspaces around the RVA region to discuss land ownership, sustainable agriculture practices, climate change, and other pressing issues. Over the course of five episodes (released every Friday), Chavis and series guests explore themes of collaboration, environmental racism, and the importance of Black space.
