There was no way I could bring you guys an epic Miami Street Food series without taking you to one of the best spots for Greek street food in Miami! Come along with me and my father to the Wynwood area to have some fire Greek food!

We arrived at Nostimo Greek Kitchen, which offers so many favorites that you can eat on the streets of Greece! They have gyros, souvlaki, falafel, hummus, tzatziki, and much more! I met up with Yanni from Nostimo Greek Kitchen and followed him inside.

The restaurant’s interior is very colorful, with lots of white and blue, the colors of the Greek flag and the main two colors of Greece! There’s a mural of Santorini that also features Pegasus, the winged horse, and Poseidon with his trident.

In the kitchen, Yanni started cooking up some Greek favorites! He started by oiling and grilling some Greek pita bread, which is thicker than regular pita bread. It’s chewier and makes for a better gyro. He sliced the meat off the spit and then fried some fries to add inside!

Then, he started on the souvlaki, which included pork, chicken, and bacon-wrapped chicken varieties. They’re very similar to pinchos or kebabs. To the fries, Yanni added paprika, browned oregano, salt, garlic powder, and oregano. He put the souvlaki on the grill and basted them with a lemon dipped in a sauce made from olive oil, water, salt, oregano, garlic, and other spices.

Next, he built the gyro by taking the grilled pita and adding tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, parsley, meat, fries, and lemon vinaigrette. You have to eat a gyro when you go to Athens! Then, he made a second gyro, as well as an authentic salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, kalamata olives, green bell peppers, parsley, lemon vinaigrette, extra virgin olive oil, oregano, and salt.

Then, he made Greek fries and added in some pita with tzatziki and hummus. The Greek fries contained chicken, feta, greco de gallo, and tzatziki. He plated the souvlaki on a bed of fries with pita bread on the side, fresh parsley, lemon wedges, and tzatziki. For dessert, we’d have baklava with Nutella and powdered sugar on top!

We started with the salad, which had a nice block of feta cheese on it. It was so refreshing and I loved the crumbly cheese! The onions and kalamata olives were amazing as well. The onions had an amazing crunch!

Then, we moved on to the pita with tzatziki and hummus. The tzatziki was really amazing. It’s like Greek ketchup—they put it on everything! I also loved the hummus. Everything was super fresh and very tasty.

Next, we had the gyro, which had both lamb and beef on it. It was so delicious and filling, with a nice crunch. I loved the contrast of the bread, tzatziki, the crunchy onions, and crispy fries. I loved it with the spicy sauce!

Then, we tried the souvlaki! First was the bacon-wrapped chicken, which was rich, fatty, and bursting with flavor. The pork souvlaki with the spicy sauce and the tzatziki was fantastic, and great with the pita as well.

Then, we jumped on the Greek fries! They were loaded with toppings. They’re like Greek nachos! The flavors are unreal. The chicken, fries, Greco de gallo, tzatziki, parsley, and tomatoes together we so mouthwateringly good! It was another full meal!

Finally, we ended with the Nutella baklava, which was full of walnuts and lots of layers of dough. It was the most walnuts I’ve ever had in baklava! They were fantastic with the Nutella and dough! My favorite baklava of all time!
