How To Play Eruption By Van Halen - I've Been Playing The Tapping Part Wrong For Over 30 Years!

In this video I demonstrate how to play Eruption by Van Halen.... ok... so no one can really play Eruption just like Eddie Van Halen.... he was one of a kind...one in a million. Now having said that... there are dudes like Dweezil Zappa that are 99.99999% accurate and I have the utmost respect for them. I have been playing and performing Eruption for over 30 years and have worked hard to get it as close as I can but Ironically, have been playing the tapping part wrong due to some incorrect tab many many moons ago! I recently discovered this and was really embarrassed that I acctally had made this mistake.... but hey... here it is... the corrected version! Having said that... I feel that accuracy and attitude in your playing are critical when performing a convincing rendition of a solo like Eruption. Eddie played it differently on a nightly basis but the essential vibe of the solo was there. Even EVH took liberties when playing this live.
