Loose rocky hill climbs? Body position. Here is your default position when standing on the footpegs. This also applies to hill climbs. What do the world's best extreme enduro riders have in common? Riders like Graham Jarvis, Jonny Walker and Alfredo Gomez are all former trials riders who applied cross training skills to hard enduro events. Unless it's ridiculously steep, you keep your arse over that rear fender to keep the rear wheel weighted. How to do loose rocky hill climbs on enduro bikes? Once a loose rocky climb gets to a certain steepness, the best way to tackle this is to go from side to side, using your pivot turn skills. Avoid unneccesary wheelspin with careful thottle control. If you stop, try a controlled drop of the clutch and a bounce on the seat. The lower the air pressure in your rear tyre, the better your grip for hill climbs. If you are really stuck, consider dropping your rear pressure to 5psi to make the climb, then carry one of these tiny pumps to get more air in and protect those rims.
