The World Black Pudding Throwing Championships took over the main street of Ramsbottom village in northern England on Sunday (8th September, 2013).

A sleepy English village....Big black balls.....and a mangled heap of oversized yorkshire puddings...

Yep, It's that time of year again! As the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships took place in Ramsbottom on Sunday.

The tournament has been running for more than 100 years and involves competitors hurling black puddings into the air, with the aim of kocking yorkshire puddingsoff a plinth.

A black pudding, often found in a traditional English fry-up, is a mix of congealed pigs' blood and fat, encased in a length of intestine. Yummy.

Local resident and former champion Huseyin Ozluk knocked off one of the Yorkshire delicacies on his final throw to become the first two-time winner in the event's history.

And the winner himself displayed two ingredients required to be a champion; confidence and a winning smile.

Huseyin Ozluk, winner of the competition:
"I believed I had chance to win because I am quite good."

And Ozluk will surely be back next year to defend his title.
