In the first Alien vs Predator (AVP) film, the Predator characters consisted of the Yautja Scar, Celtic, and Chopper, a trio of Youngbloods tasked with undertaking their first Xenomorph hunt in a coming-of-age ritual to become what are known as Blooded warriors.
This time though, the ritual was a failure, as, due to interference from the Humans, who had unwittingly taken their Plasmacaster weapons, the Youngbloods were unprepared and met their ends at the hands of the Xenomorphs.
The youngest of the three brothers was Scar, named after the marking he gave himself after killing a Xenomorph.
Scar split off from his brothers to track down the Plasmacasters on his own, and the two were killed by the Grid Alien.
He would manage to kill a Xenomorph, but was impregnated soon after.
Later, Scar would find Lex the last Human survivor, who returned his weapon to him, and they both teamed up to escape the pyramid.
They reached the surface, but were met by the Alien Queen who’d also escaped through the ice tunnel.
Working together, the Yautja and Human defeated the Xenomorph, but not before Scar was impaled by its tail and died.
But what may have happened if he wasn’t killed, and instead survived?
Well, there are two main actions that led him to his death.
The first was how he let his guard down, and fell victim to a Facehugger, and the second, how he was mortally wounded by the Queen during their fight.
So first off, let’s say he never got impregnated.
If he killed the second Facehugger, I don’t think it would have changed things much, as he would have suffered from memory-loss, as is normal with Facehugger victims, so may not have even been aware of it. So there wouldn’t be much difference between a Scar with or without an Alien inside him.
The Predalien was nowhere near ready to emerge until the final seconds of the film, so he would have still gone on as he does normally in the film, until battling the Queen and dying in combat.
So, I think he still would die by the Queen at the end even if he wasn’t impregnated.
And then, if he got impregnated, but didn’t get killed by the Queen, then if he didn’t know about the Chestburster, he would have succumbed to it as he entered the Mothership.
Or, if he was aware of the Alien inside him; as the Predators are a highly advanced race technologically, they may have the means to remove a Chestburster, and save his life that way. So he could survive that way, but then, whether or not it is possible to remove a Chestburster without killing the host can vary between different media, so that opens a whole new can of worms.
And then lastly, if Scar neither got impregnated by the Facehugger or impaled by the Queen, then he would have succeeded and returned to his clan as a Blooded warrior.
They would have left Lex with the Ceremonial Combistick the Elder gifted to her, and Scar may have also gotten something.
Maybe they may have invited Lex to go with them like with Machiko in the comic, but I don’t think Lex would do that, and would stay on Earth.
And then Scar would continue as a Hunter with the rest of his clan.
He would have then been on the same sort of level as City Hunter, as he was a newly Blooded Predator, so maybe after the ritual, Scar would probably be able to go on solo-hunts; he would go to many different worlds to hunt different creatures, and may even return to Earth to hunt Humans specifically.
I think it would have been cool to have had one of the three Predators survive, and leave with the others, but I suppose the Predalien did setup the next film.
