Hooked on Cockburn Sound - a special fishery on Perth's doorstep that needs protecting

Recfishwest's Operations Officer Levi De Boni grew up fishing in Cockburn with his dad and has fished the Sound all is life. 

In this video he talks about the safe, accessible and fantastically diverse fishing available to the Perth community right on the City's doorstep. 

It's an absolute gem, says Levi, a treasued community asset that needs protecting from an array of industrial developments in the pipeline including the Government's new container port in Kwinana - Westport - planned to be operational by 2032 along with a new shipping lane dredged through the heart of the Sound.

Over the coming months, Recfishwest along with numerous members of the Cockburn Sound community, will be campaigning hard to ensure the Sound's unique environment and the fantastic fishing and other leisure experiences it provides, is protected from industrial development.
