The course of AXIAL SPONDYLOARTHRITIS over 3 years as seen on MRI

Описание к видео The course of AXIAL SPONDYLOARTHRITIS over 3 years as seen on MRI

In axial #spondyloarthritis (also referred to as ankylosing spondylitis, which is the older term), the sacroiliac joint changes over the course of the disease. Initially, active inflammatory lesions such as bone marrow edema or osteitis dominate, followed later by erosions, sclerosis and fat lesions. There is also a lot going on in the joint space, and this results in repair processes called "backfill".

Check out how Professor Kay G. Hermann interprets case 4 from the collection "Learn Axial Spondyloarthritis Now!" in the BerlinCaseViewer app. Shown is the progression of the disease with an #MRI at the very beginning, then another one after one year, and later again after 2 years, so that a total of three years of the disease can be studied.
