Metro Green Line Southwest LRT Extension - Summer '24 Project Update

The extension to Eden Prairie of the Twin Cities' Green Line LRT line is as interesting to me as it is explosively dividing opinions about transit in the American midwest in general!

Actually, it's gotten rather stressful - possibly more tiring to comprehend than sitting in traffic - to keep breaking down MN public transportation topics into anything that Minnesotans haven't already solidly made their minds up about. But, new train infrastructure is interesting to plenty of folks, including myself!

So, let's see what's been built on the Southwest Extension of the Metro Green Line LRT route, slated for opening Summer 2027. I really like new infrastructure but it's mind-bending how we continue to engineer ourselves into projects that don't wholly improve transit as a whole. More infrastructure support is needed the world over so we can all keep freely wandering, be it in what ever vehicle you choose.

But where's the support when all of our talking points lie on the extremes of our preferred team of choice when it comes to moving around? Let's give the Metro Green Line an proud look as well as a serious discussion about the complex challenges crafting transit for suburbanites that have hardly more than preconceived notions in place of actual public transit experiences.

And yes, there's park & ride lots everywhere. Perfect!
