Dreams of Dubai

Amidst an otherwise desolate Arabian desert, we found ourselves staring upwards in disbelief as the city sparkled against the night sky. Extravagant buildings shooting up out of the sand formed a canopy of metallic structures and flashing lights. Sports cars flooded the streets with the roar of foreign engines, and it seemed as if people from every continent had been drawn to Dubai by one dream or another. We, Nainoa Langer and I, came here with one question, “What’s Dubai REALLY like?”
We’ve all seen the social media posts filled with opulent images of luxurious lifestyles, and we were happy to finally experience some of that haha, but we knew there had to be more to this place. So we met up with as many locals as we could, asked an annoying amount of questions, and ended up having way too much fun along the way.
