L322 Range Rover air suspension desiccant change kit from X8R

In today’s video, Kayne and I are changing the desiccant pack on his L322 Range Rover from 2008 because the air suspension is throwing up a warning on the dash saying that the vehicle is lifting slowly. After much reading of forums etc, we have decided that its because there is moisture in the system. The desiccant pack has most likely never been changed, so it’s a good place to start.

We bought a full air compressor rebuild kit from the lovely folks at X8R Ltd (remember to use the discount code DABDIY20 at checkout for a very generous 20% discount). This kit contains everything that you’ll need to fully rebuild the air compressor for the suspension system as well as changing the desiccant pack, but for the purposes of this video, only the desiccant pack will be changed; we have decided to leave the compressor rebuild for a later date (and a future video!).

All electrics were disconnected from the compressor prior to commencing work so that there was no risk of electrical shock. The compressor unit was then removed from the car and the desiccant pack was changed in the workshop. This allowed us to do the work indoors where it is warm, clean and dry and gives us the best chance of keeping the system clean and free from contaminants. This job could just as easily be done on the tailgate though, so don’t worry if you haven’t got a workshop!
