Shark Bay - Monkey Mia, Dirk Hartog Island & Francois Peron National Park

Shark Bay... WOW, what a place. Most people come here to see the dolphins being fed at Monkey Mia but there's so much more to see and do. A day trip sailing in the bay on Aristocat II spotting dugongs is one of them.

I initially spent the first few days in Denham and explored the town itself as well as Little Lagoon on foot and in the van. I also did a day trip to Dirk Hartog Island which is very difficult to get to by car. Hence, a trip out by boat was the best option.

The island is very isolated, but has a small resort which was the old homestead which included a bar and distillery right on the beach front. The island is stunning and is surrounded by crystal clear water with a unique history being discovered by Dirk Hartog way back in 1616.

I also visited one of my favourite spots on the trip so far. Francois Peron National Park. I did another day trip by 4WD from Denham to this uniquely beautiful place. Turquoise waters, dark red cliffs and sandy white beaches were the order of the day. Skipjack Point, Cape Peron, Bottle Beach and Big Lagoon are some of the most spectacular places in Oz. The later being one of my all time favourites. The inlet and lagoon are simply stunning from above.

On the way out I stayed at Eagle Bluff and went to Elephant Rock and Eagle Bluff Lookout for sunrise. Another treasure in the Shark Bay area. Can't wait to go back...

Once again, I hope you enjoy the video thanks for watching!
