If you have ever participated in a charitable event of some sort, you probably have not thought of the pros and cons. You probably just sign up, help and move on. Toxic Charity gives a deeper insight into the uglier side of charity and urges readers to consider how they can make sure they are helping, rather than hurting, those they intend to help.

Portfolios of the Poor gives a fascinating look at how the lowest income people in the world manage their money. They are probably actually better at managing their cash flow than I am - because they HAVE to be. This book gives insight on how people save, what they spend their money on, and, through inference, offers some suggestions on how to help.
