In this video I am playing a DW Performance Lacquer Series 4-piece kit with a beautiful Ebony Stain finish. DW's Performance Series was made to allow a wider range of drummers to tap into legendary DW quality at amazing price. This drum set, as with all DW drums, is precision made with all kinds of fantastic features that bring killer performance and sound.

Big Sound
Let's face it, as drummers we would all love to have giant drum kits; big enough to take up a whole stage. But in reality a 4-piece kit is really all we need to get just about any job done. This kit gives you everything you need for stage and studio. You get a 9" x 12" rack tom, a 14" x 16" floor tom, an 18" x 22" kick drum, and a 6.5" x 14" snare. All of the drums are made from 100% North American Hard-Rock Maple in DW's exclusive HVX shell design. The toms and kick drum are 8-ply and the snare is 10-ply. With their 45-degree back-cut bearing edges you get a sound that is warm with a ton of punch and articulation. These drums were very easy to tune and I got them sounding good at a number of different pitches.

Great Hardware Features and Looks
All DW drums come with hardware that is top notch and user friendly. In the Performance Series you get DW’s patented STM (suspension tom mount) system which allows the drums to resonate freely and never gets in the way. You get Chrome Standard Triple Flange Hoops in graduated weights, the extremely easy to use MAG throw-off on the snare drum, Low-Mass Die-Cast Claw Hooks, and TruePitch Tuning rods. All of these feature add up to great sound and ease of use.

As for the looks, these drums come with a gorgeous Ebony Stain. The beautiful wood grain shows through and with the right light, the color actually looks a little violet. There is the new Quarter Turret Lug which is a scaled-down version of the famous round DW lug and a new badge. These drums look amazing!
