Virupaksha Temple is a 7th-century Shiva temple in Hampi, Karnataka, India. It is one of the oldest continuously operating temples in India and is considered to be one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the country. The temple is dedicated to Virupaksha, a form of Shiva, and is also known as Pampapati, or the consort of the local goddess Pampadevi.
The temple complex is spread over a large area and includes several courtyards, shrines, and pillars. The main entrance to the temple is through a massive gopura, or tower, which is nine stories tall and decorated with intricate carvings. The temple is also home to a number of other temples, including shrines dedicated to Vishnu, Lakshmi, and Ganesha.

Virupaksha Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hampi. The temple is open to visitors all year round and is especially busy during festivals such as Maha Shivaratri and the chariot procession of Virupaksha and Pampadevi.
