Sabitha Monis "ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗ" ಅಂತಾರೆ ಸಭೀತಾ, where there is a will there is way

Sabitha Monis – Student Welfare Officer, Alva’s Education Foundation shares an absolute inspirational story of being able with disability. Born into a small family with parents and siblings who are fully physically abled. She recalls the tales her parents narrated about her childhood and thanks her siblings for being caring. Spending time with them inspired her to start using her legs to do her day-to-day chores like eating, drinking, reading and writing. Sabitha recalls how she used to tag along her siblings and go to anganwadi with the keen interest to learn. She also recalls an incident which gave her admission to school and the opportunity to pursue education like any other kids of her age. Sabitha states that one golden chance changed her life and that there was no turning back. Year after year she crossed mile stones and got to where she stands today – independently and inspirationally.She gives credits to many people who were kind to her along the way. Sabitha concludes saying where there is a will there is way.

ಸಭೀತಾ ಮೊನಿಸ್ ವಿಕಲಚೇತನರಾದ್ರು ಅದನ್ನೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನ ಹಂಚ್ಕೋತಾರೆ. ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ, ದೈಹಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಥರಾದ ಪೋಷಕರು ಹಾಗು ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರ ಜೊತೆ ಬೆಳೆದವರು. ತುಂಬಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳುತಿದ್ದ ಸಹೋದರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞೆಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅವರಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಗೊಂಡು ತಾವು ತನ್ನ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಾದ ಬರೆಯುವುದು, ತಿನ್ನುವುದು, ಕುಡಿಯುವುದನ್ನ ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಮಾಡೋದನ್ನ ರೂಡಿ ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಂಡ್ರು ಅಂತಾರೆ. ಸಭೀತಾ ಅವ್ರು ಅವರ ಒಡಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತಿದ್ದ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನ ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕ್ತಾರೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಸಂಗವನ್ನ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಳ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ಘಟನೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಾಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನ ಪೊರೆದು ತಮ್ಮ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಇತರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳಂತೆ ಕಲಿಯೋಕೆ ದಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡ್ತು ಅಂತಾರೆ. ಆ ಅವಕಾಶದಿಂದಲೇ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಿತಾ ಕಲಿತ ಅವ್ರು ಎಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಬರೋಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು ಅಂತಾರೆ ಸಭೀತಾ. ಅವರೇ ಹೇಳೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಈ ದಾರೀಲಿ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆ ಸಹನೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಹಲವರಿಗೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಹೇಳ್ತಾ "ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಮಾರ್ಗ" ಅಂತಾರೆ ಸಭೀತಾ.
