When camping doesn't go as planned...EXPLORE | Cougar Buttes

So I got too ambitious and thought I could find an open campsite at a pretty well established first come, first serve campground on a late Saturday afternoon in the Mojave Desert. And yup, that place was crackin'! But I didn't let that deter me from exploring and at least cooking up the dinner I had planned. I did a bit more driving and stumbled upon Cougar Buttes. Literally no one was around except a few UTVs here and there but it was quite peaceful. Also, along the way I was able to stop by Off The Grid brewery to partake in the local craft beer. Overall, a great day trip!
