I was thinking about the medieval story of Robin Hood, and how ‘modern’ it really is. Robin is made an outlaw because of a violent and self-serving leader. What does he do? He protests in the only way left to him: he gathers other rebels, tells the bigger community what he’s doing, and starts fighting back. He shifts the balance of power, and eventually an outraged populace stops cooperating with those leaders. Yes he sacrificed a lot… but we’re still being inspired by him a thousand years later.
