Défilé de Ruoms, Balcony Road D4, Ardéche, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France - by motorcycle

Описание к видео Défilé de Ruoms, Balcony Road D4, Ardéche, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France - by motorcycle

The D4 road runs along the right/west side of the river Ardéche and connects the village of La Bigournette, a suburb of Ruoms, with the village of Bellevue. The road is around 7 km long and meets the main D104 road in Bellevue. The road was built at the end of the 19th century. This resulted in an impressive tunnel, half-open on the river side, which was cut into the limestone rock. The road is very well constructed and easy to drive on. However, the tunnel can only be driven through in one lane and is therefore regulated by a traffic light system on both sides. This narrow section is known as the "Défilé de Ruoms".

The road is located in the department of Ardéche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

This route is one of the so-called "French Balcony Roads".
