Henry Golden Boy - Mounting a Malcolm Scope the Easy Way (No-Machining Kit)

If you've got a Henry Golden Boy, then you're definitely aware of two things - It's a very lovely rifle, and having to drill to mount a scope seems sacrilegious. If you'd like to avoid drilling and tapping the barrel (or receiver), we've got an easy solution to mounting a scope on a Golden Boy.

Assuming you're using the .22 HGB, the steps for this kit are pretty easy -
1. Knock out the old sight
2. Install dovetail block
3. Install main mounting bar
4. Install scope on blocks
5. Get zeroed

The Golden Boy had a slight change in production a while back - the drilling and tapping of two holes in the barrel for mounting a picatinny rail. Our Posa/Crescent doesn't make use of these two holes, so there's no change in how our no-machining mount would go on your rifle.

The blocks that come with the mount are changeable and reversible. If you have a scope that uses Posa-cut crossbolts, just unscrew the blocks and flip them around.

If the dovetail on your rifle is a little undersized, the dovetail block can be trimmed down pretty easily. This is generally safer, as the dovetail block is easily replaced (and the rifle barrel is not).

Installation follows a few steps - Insert dovetail (and center it); install top rail (fasten down onto dovetail), check to make sure the blocks are facing the 'right' side. That's really it.

This is a little more detailed - here, you'll need to set your eye relief and level your crosshairs. This is best done after the rings are fastened onto the mount, though you could mock it up if you know the rough future placement.
