If you ever travel to Bhopal then Bhojpur ancient temple and Bhimbetka rock shelter should be part of your itinerary. They are both in the same direction. Bhojpur is approx 30 km from Bhopal and Bhimbetka is at a distance of about 45 km from Bhopal.

Bhimbetka Rock Shelters is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is famous worldwide for its rock shelters, caves and ancient paintings.

In this video, we explored the Bhojpur Shiv Temple and Bhimbetka rock shelters. We also visited a very famous tourist village of Mp - Sabaravani and had a variety of village food for dinner before leaving for Pachmarhi.

Bhojpur Temple - We started our day in the morning by visiting the “Bhojpur Temple”. It is 30 km from the Bhopal. This Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva &, and it houses a 7.5-foot (2.3 m) high lingam in its sanctum. It’s known as the tallest Shivling in India

The temple's construction is believed to have started in the 11th century, during the reign of the Paramara king Bhoja.

Timings - Since this is aASI monument - it is open from sunrise to sunset.

Bhimbetka Rock Shelters - After this we traveled around 25 km & reached the “Bhimbetka Rock Shelters” & met here Mr Ravi Ji who was our Tour guide at the Bhimbetka.

Ravi Guide - 7898356856 . It is better to book a guide before you reach there as there are not many local good guides at this site.

Timings - You can visit the ancient paintings at Bhimbetka anytime from sunrise to sunset.

The Bhimbetka rock shelters are an archaeological site that spans the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods, as well as the historic period.

Mr Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar was the one who discovered the Bhimbetka caves. The Bhimbetka caves are known as the earliest evidence of human settlements in this part of the world.

Many locals also believe that “Bhim” one of the panch pandav used to sit at this place, that’s why it’s named Bhim-Betka.

We explored this place in detail & learn about the Paintings of prehistoric times.

Dinner at Sabarvani Village - On the way to Pachmarhi we had our dinner at the Tourist Village of MP - “Sabarvani. We met Kamlesh Ji who runs a Homestay here.

Overall it was a great experience to visit this village we enjoyed the dinner here.

Charges of Homestay - Rs 3000 including Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for double occupancy.
