Wow, wow, wow! This place is an absolute paradise! We’ve had some cracking beach camps over the past few months, but this one takes the cake💪
Sandy Point is only 7kms from the well-known 14 Mile beach camp, but yet I’ve never heard anyone mention it😮

There are only 14 sites in the entire campground and all of which are big and relatively private.

We stayed on site 13 for the first two nights as the wind was up a bit! 13 & 14 offer more protection from the wind as you are behind a small due. Access to the beach is still easy.

Once the wind died, we moved down to site 4, and this is the pick! An absolute screamer of a site😍Absolute beachfront.

We had some good friends join us, and we could fit both of our vans and cars on one site easily.

One awesome thing is that there’s very little soft sand, so if you don’t like getting bogged, you should be fine. I’d still recommend letting your tyres down to 20 PSI to be safe🚗

The water right out the front is the turquoise colour you dream about, and there's some good snorkelling to enjoy just up from site 1.Theres also epic snorkelling further out. In close, we saw giant rays and an abundance of marine life. Not to mention huge big cowrie shells.

Sandy point is located within Pelican Point Sanctuary, so you can't fish, spear or squid from a boat; however, you can fish from the bank🐟 The sanctuary ends approx 2kms away, making it relatively easy to take the boat for a fish. We did and landed a monster Wahoo (143cms )! There's also some epic squiding to be done 🦑

The only tricky part about access is a small section where the road splits for traffic coming in & out. Entry has rocks on either side and is pretty tight, so be careful; otherwise, send a spotter over the outgoing road as this is much wider and easier to menovuer a bigger van 🙌

Fires are permitted, but you must bring your wood and must have a toilet. A dump point is located at the entry 💩

Dogs are also allowed🙌
