Arishtanivrutti Mantraaha | Challakere Brothers

Arishtanivrutti Mantras are a compilation of mantras from different clusters of mantras in Krishna Yajurveda and Rigveda. This mantra bhaaga focuses on clearing all the troubles or obstacles that a seeker witnesses in their journey of self-realisation. These Mantras are usually chanted during various occasions such as Shaanti karmas. It includes Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Apamrityuparihaaraka Mantra, Mritasanjeevini Mantra and a collection of other Paapanivaaraka Mantras. Initial set of mantras (Mahamrityunjaya Sukta) seek blessings to protect us from untimely death.

The mantra bhaaga requests a good health and longer life span for all the living beings to involve in spiritual deeds and work towards a transition of realising the self. A part of Arishtanivrutti mantra bhaaga is “Sarva Paapa Vimochana Mantraha”. Any sin committed knowingly or otherwise can become an obstacle in one’s Saadhana and hence need to be cleansed off.

Thus a repeated chanting of Arishtanivrutthi mantras helps in reducing the burdens caused by the sins accumulated through materialistic desires. It cleanses one's obstacles and energises a person to stay on the path of Dharma.
