I researched some of the most common questions surrounding hypertrophy like what split is best or how much volume you should use. Turns out some of them have very definitive answers for example training to fail is just as effective as 3 RIR but.. most people underpredict how many reps they have left by an average of 2.

Another interesting finding is how little frequency actually matters, so many people claim that training frequency is the most important variable when designing a program. The reality is that frequency is just a way to manage volume. When total volume is equated there is no difference from a bro split to a ppl or similar split that has you hit a body part more than 1x per week. Obviously, we could have just used the anecdotal argument that some of the biggest bodybuilders that have ever lived used a bro split but it's nice to understand why.
