樂曲開始以三個音自由演奏，傳達出深情、懷幽的情緒。其後曲調變化豐富，有廣東音樂特有的韻味。發展起伏的旋律，宛如潺潺流水和片片行雲。以椰胡演奏更顯得纏綿悱惻，萬般動人。

Flowing Water with Drifting Clouds Shao Tiehong
This melody is changeful in tone, a typical rime of Cantonese music. The melody flows like the murmur of a stream, and the smooth flying of white clouds. Yehu is more capable of expressing the feeling of attachment and affections.
