10/6/14 - Nine locomotives are on the head-end of westbound domestic container / trailer train 21M at Richland, but only the first three locomotives are running, the rest are simply along for the ride from Croxton to Harrisburg or Chicago for other assignments. More trains terminate in North Jersey than originate from there, so over the weeks power builds up in Croxton. The leader, NS Dash-9-44CW 9588 has a rare Leslie RS5T horn.

10/9/14 - Colors start to change on the trees as 16T heads east through downtown Lebanon on the opposite main.

10/28/14 - The low afternoon sun glistens off the trio of EMD locomotives on a late 20Q crossing the Brickplant Road crossing in Womelsdorf MP 74, with the Savannah & Atlanta Heritage Unit leading the way.

10/31/14 - Fall colors ignite at Womelsdorf as a trio of Union Pacific EMD's pull 212 from Main 2 to 1 at DORF.

Following close behind 212 was 24K, also crossing from track 2 to 1 at DORF. Both 212 and 24K are usually early morning trains, but with rail capacity at a near full while also the struggles of implementing the new auto-router dispatching technology, it was common to see most intermodal trains running several hours behind schedule.

11/3/14 - During the summer and fall of 2014, rail traffic levels spiked which left a lot of yards paying "catch-up". 16G drifts east with the sound of dynamic breaking filling the air as the train slows down through Richland MP 77.5 to make a stop to enter the siding at Womelsdorf just 3 miles east of here. The train, with no where to go due to over flowing railyard capacity at Conway and Allentown, would spend the next 6 days sitting in the siding.

Later that morning eastbound Triple Crown Roadrailer 262 heads east on Main 1 around the 16G (working at Womelsdorf) at one of the private crossings in Robesonia. This train originated in St. Paul, MN as Union Pacific ZEMCH.

11:30 - Late in the afternoon, the sun starts to set as local train H60 works eastbound as a combine harvests the cornfield across the tracks.

12:55 - Soon after, the combine finishes another row of corn as 94M heads east with 50 loaded stone cars from the Annville Quarry.

11/4/14 - Not a black locomotive in sight as waning fall foliage is brightened up by a freshly repainted Union Pacific GEVO plus another UP and a CSX locomotive on the point of 36Q, gliding down the grade at Robesonia.

Later that morning a delayed 20E with a short train of trailers passes a field near MP 78 west of Richland. Not more than 15 minutes later the farmer came out and picked up the hay bales.

11/6/14 - A wild mix of locomotives on the 67W empty oil cans head back to the Bakkan Oil Fields of North Dakota. Not only was it colorful, but a blend of older, soon-to-be-retired locomotives made for an interesting catch, which almost didn't happen due to problems delaying this train to near darkness amidst a thickening fog.
