Wisconsin Republicans' Election Report Endorses Overturning 2020 Election Results

A draft report made public this week reveals that Republicans in Wisconsin might be close to overturning the state's 2020 election results, in spite of a complete lack of evidence of any fraud. The report, which the Republican legislature commissioned, still doesn't provide any evidence that the election was stolen, but it still says that the Republican-controlled legislature should be able to overturn any election that they wish. A draft report of the Republican commissioned, I guess, voter fraud analysis, whatever you want to call it up in Wisconsin, that is being performed by former Supreme Court justice Michael Gableman with the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Well, they released a draft report this week and in his draft report, Gableman claims that the Republican controlled legislature in the state of Wisconsin absolutely could decertify the results of the 2020 election in Wisconsin. Here we are, of course, what 16 months removed from the 2020 presidential election, 25% of president Biden's first term has already ended. And these Republicans are still talking about overturning the 2020 election results. And as Gableman says, we can do it. We totally can do it. And here's how, he says, they can do it.

It is clear that the Wisconsin legislature could decertify the certified electors in the 2020 presidential election. First, majorities in both chambers of the state legislature would need to approve a resolution declaring that the 2020 race was held quote, in violation of state law, in a way that rose to quote, the level that fraud or other illegality under Wisconsin law could have affected the outcome. Then the legislature would use its power to put forth a slate of electors that it believed quote, best accorded with the outcome of the election had it been run legally. This would lead to decertify, decertifying the relevant electors, if the legislature concluded that they were not the slate of electors, that best accorded with the election, if run consistent with all the relevant Wisconsin laws in effect on election day. Cool story, dude. Problem is you didn't point out that anything that happened in Wisconsin was illegal.

So, oops. You can't just go out there and say like, all right guys, here's the circumstances under which you can do this. There you go. Great. Do you, do you have the proof to back up these things that you say we have to do? Oh, absolutely not. No, no. I didn't find any of that. Uh, so yeah. Good luck. See you later. Here's my report. Because even though Gableman hasn't found the evidence to prove anything that he says they could use to overturn the 2020 election. What he has done is what Republicans were trying to do in the first place. Lay the stage to overturn future elections. This isn't about 2020. Folks, none of the audits, none of these recounts, none of the voting law changes have been about 2020.

They're all about trying to overturn future elections. And that is exactly what Gableman handed them here in this blueprint. And of course he laid out that, yeah, we need to change the laws. You shouldn't be able to send vote by mail applications to nursing homes, he says in one point at this, because yes, we want that extremely vulnerable part of the popul to have to venture out in the cold November in Wisconsin, to stand in line for an hour to go vote. Super smart, right? But that's what they want because to them getting more people to vote is illegal. Even though it's not. So that's what's happening here. Is Wisconsin gonna overturn the 2020 election results? Absolutely not. Could they do it in the future? Gableman is trying to tell them, yes, you can.
