I, You, He/She: Guide to Tagalog Personal Pronouns (E21)

Описание к видео I, You, He/She: Guide to Tagalog Personal Pronouns (E21)

Welcome to a NEW CHAPTER in our journey in learning Tagalog—the discussion on the Tagalog Personal Pronouns or Panghalip Panao—which is a HUGE topic. This is just the first video of a serious of videos that will tackle this HUGE topic.

There are FOUR interesting things about the Tagalog personal pronouns:

FIRST… they come in three types depending on the type of subject: they can either be in the FIRST PERSON, the SECOND PERSON or the THIRD PERSON. Most languages have these types like in English—so nothing too special there.

SECOND…each type can either be in the SINGULAR form or the PLURAL form. Again, most languages do have singular and plural forms like in English—So nothing special there, too.

THIRD…they can be grouped in to THREE. Now, depending on what resource material you read, or which teacher you listen to, they come in a variety of group names. But for simplicity’s sake, in this channel, I will call them GROUP 1, GROUP 2 and GROUP 3. Other languages (at least the ones I know) have different groupings. So, in that sense, Tagalog personal pronouns will be different from your native language.

The FOURTH thing that I want you to remember is that in Tagalog there is a unique personal pronoun KITÁ that is very hard to place and as such, is a category in itself. Discussing this will be interesting.

THIS VIDEO will focus on the SINGULAR pronouns of GROUP 1.
