Three important food items to be avoided in arthritis.
Number 1: Saturated fat
Number 2: Carbohydrates
Number 3: Processed Sugar

So, to start off with processed sugar, processed sugar is most commonly used in packed beverages that we intake and Precooked bakery items. Similar food items and aerated drinks have processed sugar in large quantities. There is a component called cytokine.
Cytokine triggers the inflammation in the joints, So arthritis progression will be faster.

Second thing is processed fat. As you all know fat already has a significant amount of molecules that can increase your body weight. So this processed fat will be easily absorbed by your body. It will store it easily and you put on weight. Thereby, it will again release its own inflammatory mediators and that will also progress arthritis.

Finally, Carbohydrates. Plain carbohydrates, that is, like what is present in oats or the carbohydrate present in millets, complex carbohydrates are very good. That is assimilated and broken down and assimilating it is difficult. So it is easy to prevent gaining weight. At the same time, when we take simple carbohydrates, we gain weight easily. Therefore, arthritis progression increases.

Similarly, three important food items commonly people believe that eating these items will cause arthritis. We call it nightshade vegetables. That is potatoes, tomatoes and brinjal.
If you consider these food items, there is a misconception that it causes arthritis and gastric issues. Scientifically, there is no evidence to say that these food items cause arthritis.

Secondly, they say if you consume milk and milk related products, it could cause arthritis. But even for that, there is no scientific evidence. In fact, they do have a certain amount of beneficial effect where calcium absorption plays a key role. So only if there is calcium, our bones will become strong and only when the bones are strengthened, arthritis can be prevented. In no way is calcium a bad food for arthritis. Definitely milk and milk products are very good.

Thirdly, it is citrus. There is a myth that consuming Vitamin C could lead to arthritis. That too is not true. We could say Vitamin C is beneficial as it has a good amount of antioxidants. So Vitamin C is actually good for arthritis and not bad.

So, the three food items to be avoided are Simple carbohydrates, saturated fat, and finally, processed sugar. It is enough if you avoid these three.
