It's the mid-1970s, and youngsters are obsessed with Bruce Lee and martial arts. There’s an overwhelmed Bruce Lee Fan Club, run by Rhona McVeigh from a small bedroom in west London, and kids on the street flailing their limbs about and screeching.

But not all kung fu is the same – so what is the difference between 'soft' and 'hard' kung fu? Scene visited two kung fu clubs with contrasting philosophies to find out. Inspiration for Miyagi-Do vs Cobra Kai? It's not for us to say.
