As IDF goes behind fracturing Iranian proxies’ backbone, Israel is now attempting to make progress towards a deal with Hamas. According to Israeli Officials, Mossad is pursuing a hostage deal with the Hamas in Gaza. The Times of Israel cited an Israel official saying that Mossad Director Barnea has been pushing deal in Gaza and Lebanon. As per the official, the deal would bring the war in Gaza as well as IDF’s invasion of Lebanon to an end. Citing Ynet news, Times of Israel said that the deal proposals would offer Hamas a 2-week ceasefire in exchange for release of 5 hostages. The reported development came days after Israeli troops killed the most wanted Hamas Chief Sinwar in Rafah. Times of Israel quoted an Israeli official calling Sinwar an obstacle towards talks path; “He blocks everything or doesn’t respond,”. Notably, US Secy of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel on Oct 21 to kick start ceasefire negotiations amid escalating tensions. The IDF on Oct 17, killed the most wanted Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in a dramatic turn of events. The Israeli forces and the Iranian proxies have been at war since the outbreak of October 07 last year
