Top 5 reasons to major in food science

If you're searching for a college major—like I was many years ago—it can be a frustrating and scary process.

All I knew was that I wanted to major in something related to science, but I had no idea what exactly that should be.

In a lucky turn of events, I came across "food science" listed on my university's webpage. I had never heard of food science and had no idea what it entailed, but I made a meeting with a professor anyways.

During this meeting I completely fell in love with food science. I was told about the paid internships, high job placement, and so many other wonderful aspects of the field.

Now, I feel like it's time for a little reflection on my experience and wanted to share why food science is such a fantastic, yet often unheard of, college major. So, here's my top 5 reasons to major in food science (Note it was really hard to narrow this down to five!).
