This video is about unbelievable life story of Srinivasa Ramanujan ( শ্রীনিবাস রামানুজন : অবিশ্বাস্য গল্প ) in Bengali. His birthday (December 22) is celebrated as National Mathematics Day ( জাতীয় গণিত দিবস ) throughout the country since 2012 as declared by the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Everyone knows that he was one of India’s greatest mathematical geniuses.

Srinivasa Ramanujan was born in Erode, Tamilnadu, India, on 22nd December, 1887. In his all too brief life of less than 32 years he made monumental contributions to Mathematics. His father, Kuppuswamy Srinivasa Iyenga was a clerk. His mother, Komalatammal, was a housewife. During living at Kumbakonam, he was enrolled in Kangayan Primary School. Then he entered Town Higher Secondary School, where he encountered formal mathematics for the first time. Later He was lent a book written by S. L. Loney on advanced trigonometry. He mastered this by discovering sophisticated theorems on his own. In 1903, when he was 16, Ramanujan obtained from a friend a library copy of A Synopsis of Elementary Results in Pure and Applied Mathematics, G. S. Carr’s collection of 5,000 theorems. He was deeply moved by that book. The book is generally acknowledged as a key element in awakening his genius. Later he received a scholarship to study at Government Arts College. After being unsuccessful in college examination, he later enrolled at Pachaiyappa’s College in Madras. But here he also failed in FA examination. On 14 July 1909, Ramanujan married Janaki, a daughter of his mother’s friend. On 17 March 1914, he started his journey for England to meet Professor Hardy, a great mathematician. Ramanujan spent nearly five years in Cambridge collaborating with Hardy and Littlewood, and published part of his findings there. Ramanujan was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in March 1916 for his work on highly composite numbers. On 6 December 1917, Ramanujan was elected to the London Mathematical Society. On 2 May 1918, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Societ. On 13 October 1918 he was the first Indian to be elected a Fellow of Trinity College.
In 1919 he returned to India. In 1920 he died at the age of 32.

In this video, I have tried to tell you three wonderful stories about Ramanujan. All the stories are unfolding the genius elements hidden in the character of Srinivasa Ramanujan.
